Circle of Friends

I am very excited! In a few minutes I am going up to our Middle School to help with the "Social" for Circle of Friends. Circle of Friends is an organization to help the kids with Special needs have a "Social" with the other kids in the school. The kids can sign up to help wheeling the kids in wheel chairs to P.E. or lunch or just be a buddy. I am so happy and proud that my litte girl signed up to help with this program. I signed up to Coordinate the "Socials" for this year. My son and his friend are going to help me serve the food. Food was dropped off as donations. I love seeing how happy the kids are at this event. I volunteered once last spring and just can't wait to go back today!!!
Well time to head up to school!

On a Scrappy note, I am getting many of my projects accomplished for Christmas with the Cricut and am excited to share them with you in November!! All of my materials have arrived prior to this and also today!!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my dear, dear husband! He is the best!!
Our kids are giving him his gift. I have to tell you though that my husband ordered it and wrapped it for himself! We suggested the idea to him and then he got it. Wow, some surprise! We had a nice long lunch at an outdoor restaurant and are staying in for dinner. We also celebrated the other night and will do so again this coming weekend, with friends.
I will post the cards later that we made.

Big Shot! Big Shot!!!! Check this out!!!

Lookey Lookey at my new Big Shot cover!!!
I am so excited to get this!
I just love my Big Shot and don't want it to get dusty so, a very talented lady, Clare, custom designed this for me!!

So darn tired!

Spent today doing a second Halloween Treat Workshop. I don't know why, but they wear me out. I was deliriously tired but we went to dinner afterwards for my husband's birthday. I was so slap happy in the restaurant that I started hysterically laughing. My kids asked if I was drunk but all I had was a sip of peach tea. I then laughed so hard that I cried. My husband loved seeing me so light hearted but the kids were like "what is wrong with mommy". I was going to come straight home and go to bed, but instead created this card.
I am toooo tired to post the materials used but will do so in the morning.
Hope you all had fun at the workshop. Thanks to Carmen, Evelyn,Linda, Liz, and Shanna for coming today!!

Yum Yum Cakes

Lookie, Lookie!! This summer my little girl met Evelyn at her cake class. Evelyn is over at my house right now for a SU Workshop and I want to brag about her cake!!! Isn't this gorgeous!! If anyone in the Dallas area is in need of a cake, please get in touch with me and I can get you in touch with Evelyn !! YUM YUM!!

Thank you Christmas with the Cricut and PC!

I had a MB friend over today when my box of goodies to start creating for the Design Team arrived. She noted that my puppies were just as excited to see the box as I was, so I ran and grabbed my camera. Meatball (the pup in my Aviatar) is on the left and
Oreo Cookie is on the right.

later....oh I am having so much fun working on my projects! I completed one and am working on the next but you will have to wait until November 8th!

Got some FLIPS!! Thank you Lisa and Lori B from the Message Boards!
However I don't know how to transfer it to my computer yet. This video is done via my computer and not on my new Flip. My pup Meatball is in the background whining, so excuse my laugh!
I would LOVE if you could please leave some comments as to what type of tutorial you would like to have on SU Card Making? Thanks! Barb

More Sweet Treats!! Flower Cards

By request, here are some more Sweet Treat Cards! They are refillable! I also just got my new Holiday Movers and Shapers for my Big Shot and it made this soooo easy to punch all those holes in the centers. Here are just a few of the ones I made. To see how to refill, go to Tutorial on September 8th post.
I had so much fun making these colorful flowers. There is much embossing but it is not noticeable in the photo.
Notice first of all the little stamped Bee in the card. This is on a piece of cardstock and stuck under the candy cup. The other side has the little scallop circle with another bee stamped on it. This removable idea is from another consultant, Kim Wilson. I added the little scalloped tag!

Guest Designer for Christmas with the Cricut!

I am thrilled ( and nervous) to announce that I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the Christmas with the Cricut Blog!! If you have not been over there, ( I am sure everyone has!) you will need to jump on over to Christmas with the Cricut which features daily Christmas projects and give aways! This blog is the genius idea of Joy, Melanie and Tammy.
I will be showing my designs from Winter Woodlands and Mini Monograms during one week in November. I am going to be among some of the greatest designers, so this makes me very nervous, as I am just kind of a plain ole' simple and easy type of card maker/scrapbooker . However, I am very honored and I can't wait to get this cartridge, courtesy of Provo Craft! I get to create with this new cartridge and the Mini Monograms, cart that I own and love! I love a challenge and feel it is good for the brain and keeps me young ( lol) , so stay tuned for a great month of November with some awesome talented people. Joy, Melanie and Tammy have worked so hard on their blog for a month now and have over 3,000 followers so hop on over there and while you are there check out the other awesome Guest Designers!!

Enfys is coming back tomorrow!!

This darling card and wonderful goodies are from the very talented Enfys Cashmore from Going-Buggy!
About a month ago, I posted that I was near 140 followers. Enfys was teasing me and said she would like to get to 1,000 followers. I told her, I would help her , if she would make me a card, because I love her work and always tell her she is famous. Well not only did Enfys make me a "Famous Enfys" card, but she sent these gorgeous goodies all the way from the UK!!! They are so gorgeous and beautiful quality!

Let's welcome Enfys back to the USA! She returns tomorrow to spend time in her "Winter Home" in Florida. I bet she is on the plane right now!! Welcome to the US, Enfys and thanks for the goodies!!

Ok, now I need some help from all of you. What do YOU think Enfys would like from the USA as far as some goodies???
Please list some good ideas in your comments!!

Snow Leopard :(

Hi friends,
I just installed my Snow Leopard yesterday. What a mess!! I spent hours this morning on the phone with Apple. I have not seen any of the benefits yet, but it sure did mess my computer and my iphone up. I lost all my mail accounts. Anyone else have these problems? I just got my email back up and working so cross your fingers that it stays up. If for some reason, I do not respond, then call me. I am always quick to respond to all emails and was freaking out when neither of my systems worked!
Not a fun way to start a Sunday, when I was getting ready to craft all morning. Hope you all have a good day. Some sunshine in Dallas would help! On a good note, I just noticed I am at 198 followers!! Whoo Whoo!

Later..... Now my email works but my Equinox Stationery has changed.
Has Snow Leopard affected any of your computers in an adverse way?
What are the benefits of Snow Leopard anyway!?

How to make a Refillable Sweet Treat Cup! Tutorial

I am just loving these Sweet Treat Cups by Stampin' Up. How many of you would love to either be able to refill them or to not have them torn apart after kindly giving someone one? Well I thought I had come up with a workable solution until I found a tutorial by Demonstrator Kim Wilson at Craft Doc. I have to give her TONS of credit because SHE came up with THIS superb idea. I am passing it along in hopes of helping you !
I am going to try to take you step by step to show you how I made my card using the "Kim Wilson" method! I am doing this "Tutorial" so I can help those of you that have bought these cups and don't know how to work them. I do hope this tutorial is helpful to you and would appreciate any feedback on it, please.

First of all here are all the supplies I used including all the punches and pre-cut paper and stamp set. For a detail list of sizes of pre-cut papers, please Email me.

First center your punch at the bottom of your card and punch out a circle with the 1 3/4" punch. Do the same on the Black Cardstock.

Next stamp two images of the Sweet Centers Halloween Stamp with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink on the Whipser White Paper. Trim around the edges.

Adhere one of the stamped images on the Only Orange Card Stock and trim around the edge.

Now punch a hole in the stamped image on the orange cardstock with the 1 3/4" Punch and save the little " Eeek" circle. Only punch the hole on one of them. Save the EEK! Trim your EEK with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

Adhere your ribbon with your tape runner. I ALWAYS use my grid paper to line eveything up!

Take the adhesive off the Sweet Treat Cup and place cup directly over the hole on the black cardstock.

Place the Stamped Image on Orange Card stock over the hole.

Now Turn card over and place Orange Cardstock Strip on the top. Adhere the strip on the TOP and Sides only. Do NOT adhere on the bottom. I used my tape runner. Place a few Candy Corns in the little cup.

Take your other "intact" stamped image with the Eek facing the correct direction and slip it right under the orange strip. This is going to be your tab to pull down. It should be white from the inside of the card and the front of the card, should show the Eek through the little clear cup. I am not showing it turned upside down but I want you to make sure that you put the Eeek in the correct way.

After you turn over the printed stamped image so it looks correct from the front, it looks like this ( blank) from the inside of the card.

Punch out a little Scallop Circle on the Black Cardstock. Adhere the extra little Eek

Now take your little "Eek" and place in on a punched out Scallop Circle on Black Cardstock.

This is now your little Tab to pull down and it will expose the candy. This was the Kim Wilson idea! Putting in the little scallop is my idea! Cute huh!!??

Almost finished. Time to adorn the ribbon. Stamp a Halloween Sentiment on whisper white and cut out with the Word Window Punch. I used the Halloween Hi sentiment from the Level Three Hostess Stamp Set.

Now punch out a little background for you sentiment with some Only Orange Cardstock, using the Modern Label Punch. Adhere to card.

Now your card is all done and ready to slide your candies in and out!

Please leave me a comment on the tutorial and ask me any questions if you do not understand.
