Simply Sunday~ The Best Biscuits Ever! 7UP Biscuits!

Hi friends,
Thank you for stopping by and visiting on Sunday. Now for the 4th Sunday in a row, I have been featuring my Simply Sunday posts. These will not be my typical weekday Craft posts, but just something fun to share with you on Sundays. Just a bit of a personal note or someone's blog to share with you.
I will keep them up if you like the Simply Sunday posts?

Today I am sharing a recipe I found on my friend, Lisa's blog- Bug Junkie, where she found it on Monster Mama's Blog, where she found it on Plain Chicken's blog. Since it originated from Steph at Plain Chicken, I would like to credit her and thank you.  And thank you, Lisa for posting it or I would have never known how to make these! Don't we all have funny blog names!

Look at this fluffiness!!
Check out all the yummy butter on the bottom!

All you need are 4 ingredients!
Bisquick, Sour Cream, 7Up and Melted Butter!  (whoops, at first I wrote better, maybe I was thinking everything is better with melted butter!

Here is the site: http://www.plainchicken.com/2010/04/7up-biscuits.html but first, before you head on over there, be sure to leave me a comment if you think these look scrimp-dididly delicious!!!  Feel free to Subscribe to my blog by clicking the Subcribe Button below and then when you get to Steph's blog you can subscribe to her too. These ARE the best biscuits ever! Thanks Steph from Plain Chicken and Monster Mama and thanks Lisa for turning me on to these. My waist will not thank you though! I sure wish I had one left over for breakfast this morning! I ate the entire batch. Yes I did!

I would LOVE if you would kindly  leave me a comment if you stopped by, and tell me if you think these look delish or not!!!

Simply Sunday~Only in Texas! Fried Everything at the Texas State Fair

We had not been to the Texas State Fair in years, but went last week on Fair Day. The kids get a day off of school. The weather was delightful, even a bit chilly.

Check out some of the Fried Foods from the Texas State Fair. I didn't try any. The prices are very high at the Fair for food, so I wanted to save my tickets for my favorite foods. They even had Fried Bubble Gum but I did not get close enough to take a photo.

You know how Texans think they have to do everything bigger in Texas- Here is Big Tex
greeting you as you walk in

Here are some of the animals

I hope you all have a nice day!!

Simply Sunday~ Sharing a great SOUP RECIPE!

Thanks for stopping by my Simply Sunday! I love Stampin' Up! Blogs but I find most of them don't have anything other than crafting and I think it would be fun to share other things once a week, even though I am addicted to crafting!

Today I want to share with you a recipe I found from a really great lady named Pam. Her blog is called For the Love of Cooking. I found her recipe here: http://fortheloveofcooking-recipes.blogspot.com/2011/10/creamy-chicken-potato-and-veggie-soup.html

I LOVE making soup! I made this on Thursday, left it on the stovetop to simmer and took the pups for a walk. When I came in, I had a few bowls and whew, it is still hot in Texas, but this would be great for a cold wintery day.

First let me show you some photos along the way.
Yum Fingerling potatoes cooking in butter and olive oil with onions. I could eat those and skip making the soup, but I went on! I never heard of Fingerlings before and they sure are strange looking!

Yum, Potatoes, Onions, Carrots and Celery. It called for a bit of Garlic but I doubled it. We love cooking with Garlic. Our neighbors once called us the Garlics instead of the Gornicks- our last name.

Hmm, now Milk, Chicken Broth, Roasted Chicken, seasonings and Broccoli are added. Looking good but PLEASE check out Pam's photos as you know how great photos look on Food Blogs!
Pam is probably thinking this photo looks awful, but wait to you see her photo below!

This is the wonderful photo from her Love of Cooking Blog! Please be sure to check out Pam's site. She is a great cook and a very sweet blogger! She even comments on my card posts!
This is the link for her Blog: http://fortheloveofcooking-recipes.blogspot.com/ but her soup link is above. I love meeting people in Bloggyland!

As always, thank you for stopping by, but first before you go, as always, I love comments sooooo, please tell me what your favorite homemade soup is, please!!!!
Just click on Comments below and it will take you to a spot to comment!

SIMPLY SUNDAY-oops on Monday!

 Hi friends,
I am a day late on my SIMPLY SUNDAY post but I had to share the good news about the FREE Big Shot or $100 in Product with signing up for Stampin' Up! yesterday.
I also was not feeling well yesterday, so here is my Simply Sunday Post on Monday!
If you all comment, I will keep this up for you on Sundays!

Last week I mentioned I was making a birthday dinner for my husband.
This is what I made

Dr. Pepper Spicy Shredded Pork served on Soft Flour Tortillas with Cole Slaw

and Roasted Smashed Potatoes

I love these Potatoes! I made them before from a recipe from the Pioneer Woman ( I love the Pioneer Woman) but this time I got the recipe from America's Test Kitchen. Here is the LINK and here is their photo.

If you can not open the link to the America's Test Kitchen Potatos, HERE is the link to the Pioneer Woman Cooks Potato Recipe: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2008/06/crash-hot-potatoes/  Here is her photo:

Here is the link for the Dr. Pepper Spicy Sredded Pork by the Pioneer Woman

The Pork was ok but I had tried a Pulled Pork Crock Pot Recipe a few weeks ago that I enjoyed more.
Here is that link from http://quick-dish.tablespoon.com/2011/05/18/3-ingredient-slow-cooker-pulled-pork/  I liked this one better but next time am going to combine the two recipes and roast the roast but with the soda and the bbq sauce rather than the peppers/sauce and rather than the crock pot.

Please comment and let me know if you like my Simply Sunday Posts?
Also what do YOU like to make for special birthday dinners??
