My First SU Workshop!

Had my first Stampin' Up Workshop yesterday at my home.
We had the table filled. Poor Kerry from the MB couldn't make it- her little boy broke his arm that morning!
There were three other MB members though and some "old" customer/friends of mine from another Biz and my best buddy, Melanie!

Some of the "stuff" we used- sorry photo is so blurry! It is funny how you have it all neatly organized and then everyone starts working and materials are flying all over in a fun frenzy!!! Thanks to Melanie for cleaning all my stamps and putting them back in the cases. Gosh, you worked, Mel!

Lorrie and Bridget you never showed up! ( just a joke from Lorrie). Lorrie, lives in Indiana and Bridget lives in Las Vegas but they were teasing that they were coming! Sure wish you could have been there, but maybe next time! It sure would be fun!

This is that same card, that I put on a few posts down. It was not looking good to me so I revamped it. I just love ALL the Designer Pattern Papers.
This one is a 5x5 card and is done with the Old Olive Pattern Paper

I am amazed at the response of people coming and have to admit a bit nervous too, but having been a teacher for so many years, I am organized and ready!

Thursday's Tall Tales Stampin' Up Cards

Today I am showcasing Thursday's Tall Tale cards from my Stampin' Up new paper pack called......you guessed it- Tall Tales! This is from the same pack I used on the Whale cards I show cased yesterday.
I just love this pack. It is great for cardmaking and scrapbooking. I was waiting for my Modern Label and Word Window punches to arrive today to put the finishing touches on. They work great with the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.

SU Tall Tales Whale of a Card!

Yippee! My computer is working! Our router went out on Saturday and we just got it back on today. Boy have I missed reading your blogs and posting on my own. But on a good note, I made a bunch of cards and would like to share them with you. So, this week, will be my Stampin' Up Tall Tales week.
Everyday, what is left of this week, I will post a card or two from the darling Designer Pack called Tall Tales

For starters, here is my little whale card. I used it for a thank you card to our dear friends in Kansas City and inside wrote, "Thank you, we had a "whale of a time". Hope you got our card, Ellen before viewing my blog!

It's time for cake!! My little girl's cake class today

Today was the fourth and final day in my little girl's cake decorating class. I can not believe what a wonderful job she did decorating it. We have enjoyed the class so much! The group of girls/women in it are wonderful. I don't have the talent so I sit and watch. Today I told them I guess I am like a "Soccer Mom" or "Stage Mom" but with cakes, so I guess I am a "Cake Mom". I try not to hover over her, I have no clue how to do the things she has accomplished and I am so proud. She honestly decorated all her cakes by herself. She is only 11!!
This is her final cake!!
Let me take you through the steps:
Bake the cake

Begin to ice it

Continue icing but with fine coat. Then pat with a Viva Paper Towel

Next bring the cake into class and learn the basic weave technique. They learned the technique today on a practice board and iced the cake today after learning the technique JUSTtoday! She had fun with it and did a super job! Her teacher Deb helped her finish up the back because her poor tiny wrists hurt so badly.
She made the Royal Icing flowers last week to put on her cake.
The week before the class made Birds out of Color Flow but we were out of town. Amber, the most darling girl, gave us two birdies. Here is my little girl's final cake!

Here is her teacher, Ms.Debbie, giving my little girl her diploma for graduating course two. She is now ready to move on to the third course which involves a two tiered cake! I am so proud of her efforts. We love Deb. She is the best teacher. I made her this little booklet this morning, as a thank you. It has a big cake on it.

Here are the members of her class:
Her classmates, Jennifer and Amber. Jennifer is an Art teacher and Amber a darling 15 year old. We have enjoyed them through both Levels One and Two classes. Jennifer, the Art Teacher, actually made hers look like a basket!! Amber's blue cake was so precious. Her bright flowers were just so adorable. She is just a doll!

Here is another girl in the class, Jessica, Jessica made a gorgeous purple cake. She planned to add some My Little Ponies to the top as a special treat for a little girl she babysits for. She is so talented!! The purple basketweave was gorgeous!


Anna and her Granddaughter, Emma did not make the class today.
I miss Evelyn, she had to switch her class to another time.

Now they are all ready to move on! Me? I can't even prepare an icing bag!!

I am not really doing it in the traditional way but I have to say that when I see comments on my blog, I know they are going to be from either Bridget, Sandy, or Lorrie N from Scrappin' Stuff. and that is what this award is about, the ones who support you on your blog! Lego Display at Crown Center, Kansas City

While out of town, we happened upon this fantastic Lego Display by artist, Nathan Sawaya. I especially liked the blue man putting himself together! Enjoy the photos! I took them in mind to share them on my blog. Any St.Louis, Kansas City or Mizzou people here??? These are my old "stompin' grounds"!

Just got back in town from St.Louis and Kansas City

Just got back in town and have I ever missed blogging!
I am the type to comment on your blogs, so I have a lot of catching up to do!

I went to St. Louis to see my mom. It was a very special time and we also got to see some of our dearest friends too when we stopped in Kansas City for a luncheon honoring my husband for being with his company for 25 years. Can't forget to mention we stopped in our dear old college town of Mizzou!!!

We had a long 12 hour ride home today but so glad to be back with my puppies and in my house. Not glad to be in this heat though!

I will have to update my blog once I get settled in. The pups ended up getting sick at the vet so need to take care of them, grocery shop, laundry, catch up on my business and then can play with my blog!!

Missed reading your blogs. How weird to be away from my addiction for a week!!

It is very 3-Dimensional but you can't tell!
It looks much better in real life!
