Simply Sunday~ Hope!

Good morning, readers
Thank you for stopping by on a Sunday!
I always try to have something fun to share on Sundays but this week has left me very stressed.

We had water damage to our first floor on Wednesday. By late Thursday,  the plumber had still not found the leak. In the meantime they had to jack hammer holes in the floor and walls to try to find it.  They never could get to it as it was under the house, but they did "by pass surgery" on the pipes and stopped the flow of water.

The water damage did not stress me but the damage done to the house, trying to find it, has given me great anxiety. Seeing them jack hammer holes in walls in my office did not make me happy. The floor needed to be pulled up anyway so that part is ok. I don't mind having to move stuff from the main rooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, but having to move my office is stressing me to the max. My office is my Craftroom and if you can imagine packing all of that up in an organized fashion. Ugh!

I never did get my own Christmas Cards made to send out and I feel badly about it, but all the craft stuff has to be packed up:(

The heat fans are driving me batty. I think only 3 more days of those, then renovation can begin.

I hate to complain, no one was hurt, no damage to furniture or household items, so we are so VERY fortunate. I just don't handle stress well and during the holidaze, with so many nick knacks out it makes it even more to pack back up.

But I need to remain positive and have some....

Hope!!

So you see, I guess I do have a fun "share" after all. I am nuts over Honey and Me Inc. Snowmen
Let me show you a few of my old and a few of my new.
They make me happy!

In my Craftroom/Office

In my Entry Way

If a snowman can't make me happy, nothing will!

So even though the floors are torn up in the entry and the heat fans are out there, I still have my snowmen up....until I have to move them ~ they are staying up there till the bitter end!

Even though, I did not get my cards made, I still think of my wonderful customers and appreciate you.
Wishing you ALL a Very Merry Holiday!

Gone Fishing........Flooding

Not really but we had a slight flood in our first floor yesterday.  Needless to say, I am a bit stressed about having to pack up the entire first floor, so they can put new flooring in throughout the house.  The room I am really stressing over is my Craftroom/Office. Can you imagine all that stuff I have to move! At least we had NO damage to any household items, just the floors, walls and some furniture.

I didn't even have my Christmas Cards made yet! So I apologize for not sending any this year!!

Also I won't be able to make any new things for awhile but will be posting some things I have already made in the past or highlighting projects others have made for Christmas.

Thanks for your patience, while I shut down for a bit!

Stampin' Up! FREE Santa Candy Cane Tutorial with Top Note Die Sale!!

HI friends, I finally go to making the Tutorial many of you have requested. Sorry between preparing for my workshop, getting long distance Club orders mailed and being sick, I have not  had a chance this week.

Here are the materials needed:
Real Red Card Stock
Whisper White Card Stock
Marina Mist Card Stock
Pink Pirouette Cardstock
Skin Tone Card Stock- I used our retired Creamy Caramel
1/4" Real Read Grosgrain Ribbon

Tools:
Top Note Die- Exclusive Die through Stampin' Up! only and a must have for this project!
1/2" Circle Punch
3/4" Circle Punch
1 " Circel punch
Modern Label punch
Embossing Folder of your choice
White Uniball Pen

Embellishments:
1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon
Real Red Card Stock, Whisper White Cardstock
Real Red Ink
Scallop Square Punch
Felt from Holiday Mini Catalog or make your own embellishment

Cut out 3 Top Note Die shapes. Emboss your Whisper White Top Note cut out.
Also cut out a piece of Whisper White at about 2x4" and emboss. Check out the darling stitching. You can only get this with the Top Note Die

Now cut the red and the white to be about 1 1/2" and place over the skin toned Top Note die and adhere. This is your base face, hat and beard!
Save the red scraps for later

From the 2"x4" Embossed white piece of Card stock, cut out 2 Modern Label punched pieces and a 1" circle. After placing the Mustache pieces on the face, I curled them with my scissors

Now for the fun part. Cut out two 1" white circles, two half 1" circles from the skin tone card stock, two 3/4" blue circles and two 1/2" black circles  and assemble. Use the White Uniball pen to add expression to the eyes. Don't forget to punch out a 3/4" Circle for the nose!

From your red scraps, punch out a Scalloped Square

Stamp with sentiment of your choice- I used Tag's Til Christmas Stamp Set
Tie with Real Red Ribbon

Use the remainder of the red scraps to form a triangle for the hat and add your 1" circle for the pom pom.

I added a felt piece but you can adorn with whatever

Here is a photo of one of the workshop girls, Lori, and what she did with her Santa. She asked to use my Eyelet Border punch and trimmed her hat differently and it was oh so cute! Wish I had though of that!

Adhere to your Candy Cane. I just used our Snail Tape Runner but you can use Sticky Strip or adhesive of your choice.

Ho Ho Ho!

So, I hope my Tutorial was helpful to you! If you do not have the Top Note Die and would like to purchase it, you may click on my Website below.

I will even offer 10% off the Top Note Die but just through December 17th!! It is item #113463 and is an Exclusive Stampin' Up! Die!

Simply Sunday- old post of a Cozy Sunday

Hi everyone. It is time for my Simply Sunday post but this girl is not feeling well today, so I had a thought about this Cozy day I had last year and pulled up this old post from almost exactly a year ago today. I sure would love to duplicate this day and sure would love to feel better today but here is my "old" post for my "new" post today!  Today will be similar though but no walk and no baking but I will make cards and maybe some soup and I hope we have "Family Night" tonight!
Today will be a stay in Pajama Card Making, Soup Making, Snuggling with Dogs, Family Night Day! Hmm, I wonder if my hubby will make that salmon again!
Have a great day! b

From Dec 13th, 2010:
We had a great and cozy day on Sunday.
It was very cold out.
Even the dogs are snuggling!

I made an Italian Sausage Soup that was awesome! If anyone wants the recipe, just click on the Email me button!
And made some cards......

My husband and daughter went for a long walk in the woods.

Then my husband came home and smoked a salmon. It was so awesome. We were too full from the soup to eat it but nibbled on it

Later that night we had "Family Night" My son made Peppermint Shakes from Southern Living Recipe  and baked us some Peanut Blossom cookies.........

........and  we watched Blindside. Gosh I love that movie and can totally relate to the mom, being an Adoptive mom myself and former inner city school teacher. I always cry when I watch it.

How was your day yesterday? What did you do? What are your favorite Christmas Cookies?

Mr. Snowman says hi and sorry for his blurry photo- his mom's ( me) Camera needs charging and she can't find the cord so this is a phone photo!

I had fun with this "Ala Card Monkey Challenge
This is the first time I played along and I really love the sketch from this challenge. It makes me stretch my imagination, instead of using my same old familiar card designs.

Silver Glitter paper
Cherry Cobbler Seam Tape Binding

Oh no, Lost my Header!

YIKES!!
I lost my head- well not my head but my header! I have been trying to get my blog's "winter coat " up since December 1st.
Blogger will not let me add my new header and I lost my old header.
Oh dear!

Spring header
Winter Header
I have been trying for days to get my total winter background on and it won't take. Now today I lost my header totally.
I have to delete tons of photos in my picassa account, which I have done but now I can't even get the old one back on.
bahhhhhhh

Edit- YIPPEEEEafter deleting about several hundred photos on my blog, I was able to get the header up. Now I hope I can get the background up ok without losing my blog~

Great- got my side bars and footers up now just trying to change my black and white siggy below to pink and blue  snowman for winter. It will show up in my next post.

Edit- Ok! All set now! My Blog has it's "Winter Coat" on!
What do you think!!! I did not design it. Dear Alison Lopez designed it for me a few years ago. She no longer does this but I seem to need a bit of help each season.
